29 March–22 April 2023
LON is thrilled to present Sarah CrowEST’s second solo show with the gallery, ‘Painting RE-UP: construction and deliquescence’, on view between
29 March – 22 April.
‘Painting RE-UP: construction and deliquescence’, runs concurrent with, and extends the ideas outlined in Sarah’s major NGV commission, RE-UP: Strap-on Paintings, which is part of Melbourne Now 2023 and on view at NGV Fed Square, March 24 – August 20.
Expanding the territory of her iconic #straponpaintings project, which uses artist’s canvas, screen printing and acrylic to create wearable paintings, CrowEST challenges perceived notions of value whilst engaging with feminist histories. Previous iterations of the project have taken place in biennales and key exhibitions across the country including at; Heide Museum of Modern Art, The Ian Potter Museum, TarraWarra Museum of Art and Gertrude Contemporary.
