LON Gallery is pleased to present Glass Eye, a group exhibition featuring works by: Adorn John Cullen, Louise Weaver, Aaron Rees, Danica Chappell, Guy Grabowsky, Rafaella McDonald and Benjamin Sexton.
This seemingly diverse group of artists is linked by a common sensibility towards materiality and surface.
Honing these ideas across a brood variety of mediums; pointing, sculpture and image based practices; the works in the show represent artists driven by both process and conceptual rigour. In particular, the four photographic artists included in this exhibition share on interest into the investigation of the possibilities and limitations of analogue photography through darkroom imaging and manipulation. These artists creole rich, complex works, which are able to sustain a sense of depth that exceeds the inherent flatness and restrictions of the photographic medium. These works therefore share a similar richness and sensibility in surface comparable to the paintings of Louise Weaver and Rafealla McDonald, or the tactile plaster artefacts of Adam John Cullen.
