Christopher Day, Inimical Cave

LON Gallery is delighted to present Inimical Cave, a solo exhibition of new works by Christopher Day in conjunction with PHOTO 2021 Festival.

Inimical Cave observes similarities between the idea of Plato’s Cave and recent confinement in our own homey grottos in 2020. The world has become condensed into the screen, where media casts only a shadow of the truth. The imagery presented in Inimical Cave mediates scenes of swamps, pizza, cultivated fields, dwellings, people, ducks, antique furniture, DVD players and curtained interiors – as humorous allegorical projections of the scenes of recent life. These works attempt to illuminate how our perception of the world can become distorted by the vomitous creations layered by the media.
